KYIV. July 4 (Interfax) - The secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), Oleksandr Turchynov, and NATO's Assistant Secretary General for Emerging Security Challenges Sorin Ducaru met in Kyiv to discuss how to deepen Ukraine's military-technical and cyber-security cooperation with NATO members.
At the meeting Ducaru stressed Ukraine's role as a cornerstone of Euro-Atlantic security, an NSDC spokesperson said.
He also noted the importance of cooperating on scientific research and cyber security.
At this stage, NATO is deepening the practical cooperation and integrating its efforts, the NATO official said.
The work of NATO's Trust Fund Ukraine has been found satisfactory, and plans are being made to expand it, he said.
For his part, Turchynov briefed Ducaru on the situation in eastern Ukraine.
"Aside from the hostilities, there is the economic, power and information-cybernetic aggression against our country," Turchynov said.
