KHABAROVSK. July 5 (Interfax) - The case of multi-million embezzlement in the construction of the Vostochny cosmodrome in the Amur region and another facility in the Novosibirsk region has been referred to the Blagoveshchensk City Court, a report posted on the court's website on Wednesday said.
The charges were brought against the general director of LLC Department of Infrastructural Construction Projects based in Krasnoyarsk.
According to detectives, the suspect stole about 892 million rubles assigned for building the Vostochny cosmodrome in 2012-2014 together with the company co-founder who organized the crime. The latter's case has been made a separate proceeding.
Both men are also charged with embezzling over 318 million rubles assigned for building and renovating a facility in the Novosibirsk region.
There are more than 150 witnesses in the proceeding, and its materials comprise 233 volumes. The suspects are facing up to ten years in custody.
