MINSK. July 10 (Interfax) - The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA) has adopted the Resolution "On Restoration of the Sovereignty and Territorial Integrity of Ukraine" proposed by the Ukrainian delegation, an Interfax correspondent said.
Russia strongly opposed the adoption of the resolution but the document was nevertheless adopted.
Russian OSCE PA delegation head and State Duma Deputy Speaker Pyotr Tolstoy proposed voting against the adoption of the entire Minsk Declaration. His proposal was rejected by majority vote.
The OSCE "fully respects sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its borders as recognized by the international community, including the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol", the organization said in the resolution.
The organization also condemns "temporary occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol by the Russian Federation" and Russia's "ongoing hybrid aggression against Ukraine in Donbas", according to the resolution.
In addition, the OSCE PA strongly urges Russia "to stop sponsoring terrorist activities in Ukraine by means of the flow of militants, money and weapons across the segment of the Ukraine-Russia state border not controlled by the government and stop giving support to any such illegal armed forces in the certain areas of Ukraine's Donetsk and Luhansk regions as "committing acts of terror in Ukraine".
The document also contains the call on Russia "to ensure, under the supervision of the OSCE, the withdrawal of its armed forces, military equipment and mercenaries from the territory of the certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine and the disarmament of all illegal armed forces".
Russia resolutely opposed adoption of this resolution.
The resolution is to be included in the final Minsk Declaration.
