Aliyev tells Erdogan about Armenian provocations in Karabakh conflict zone

BAKU. July 10 (Interfax) - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul.

"During the meeting, Aliyev informed the Turkish leader of the provocations recently staged by Armenia in the Karabakh conflict zone and progress of the Karabakh settlement negotiations. Erdogan reiterated support to the Azerbaijani stance and said that the conflict should be solely resolved within the framework of the Azerbaijani territorial integrity," the Azerbaijani presidential website reported.

The two leaders also discussed the implementation of energy projects and expressed confidence that the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) project would be completed in 2018.

In addition, Aliyev and Erdogan conferred on ways to deepen military-technical cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey.

Aliyev arrived in Turkey on Sunday for the 22nd World Petroleum Congress.
