MOSCOW. July 10 (Interfax) - Foreign customers have taken an interest in the Iskander-E short-range ballistic missile system, Rosoboronexport head Alexander Mikheyev said.
"Foreign customers have taken a keen interest in the Iskander-E short-range ballistic missile system, the Verba man-portable infrared homing surface-to-air missile system, and some other types of weapons and military hardware," the Rosoboronexport website quoted Mikheyev as saying.
The demand for the S-400 missile defense systems and the Sukhoi Su-35 and Su-32 (export modification of Su-34) planes has increased, Mikheyev said.
"Russian military products were most popular with countries of North Africa and Asia in 2016. The beginning delivery of Su-35 planes to China, the appearance of the new planes, Su-32, on the market, and the further implementation of projects for the Indian Navy were important results of our work in 2016," he said.
According to the report, Mikheyev made the statement at a working meeting with representatives of the Rostec state corporation to foreign states. The head of the special exporter informed the audience of the outcome of Rosoboronexport's foreign economic activity in 2016 and the future strategy.
