Russia, Kazakhstan discuss military-technical cooperation prospects in Almaty

ASTANA. July 10 (Interfax) - Almaty has played host to the 15th plenary meeting of the Kazakh-Russian Sub-Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation, the Kazakh Defense Ministry said in a report on Monday.

The meeting attended by representatives of ministries, departments, enterprises and entities of the defense sector of Kazakhstan and Russia was co-chaired by Kazakh Deputy Defense Minister Talgat Zhanzhumenov and Deputy Director of the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation Vladimir Drozhzhov.

The sides conferred on the current status and prospective areas of military-technical cooperation, including the development of defense plants.

The Russian delegation familiarized itself with production facilities of Aircraft Maintenance Plant No 405 and the Kirov Machine Building Plant in Almaty.
