ASTANA. July 10 (Interfax) - Kazakh Senate Speaker Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev has met with Atlantic Council President Frederic Kempe, the senate press service said.
Tokayev spoke about the importance of strengthening strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and the United States at the meeting with Kempe, the press service said in a statement on Monday.
"The speaker said the main spheres of cooperation between Astana and the new White House administration are nuclear security, trade-economic and investment interaction, counterterrorism, and vital international issues," the statement said.
The meeting also addressed the situation in Central Asia, as well as international and regional security issues.
