TBILISI. July 10 (Interfax) - The border with South Ossetia is a non-negotiable issue, Special Representative of the Georgian Prime Minister for Relations with Russia Zurab Abashidze said.
"We will never enter into negotiations with the de facto authorities [of South Ossetia] and will carry on efforts to mobilize the international community against those illegal actions," Abashidze said at a press briefing on Monday.
He said he held negotiations with representatives of the European Union and informed them about the ongoing demarcation of the 'non-existent border' before he met with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin in Prague last week.
"All EU representatives suggested that we should definitely continue our dialogue with Russia. We cannot follow the advice of opposition members involved in the 2008 events in our activity in the Tskhinvali district," Abashidze said.
The Abashidze-Karasin dialogue will continue, he said.
