MOSCOW. July 10 (Interfax) - Success achieved in setting up de-escalation areas in Syria should make the efforts against terrorism in this country more efficient, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"I do expect that successes achieved in setting up de-escalation areas, primarily the Russian-U.S.-Jordanian agreement of July 7 on setting up such an area in southwestern Syria and the accumulation of quality changes on the other three de-escalation areas that are about to be formalized documentarily during the Astana process - I expect that this would really help fight terrorists more efficiently," Lavrov said at a press conference following negotiations with his South Ossetian counterpart.
