Russian citizens living in Ukraine to be compelled to register, inform about their travelling around the country

KYIV. July 10 (Interfax) - Mandatory registration at the place of residence and the requirement to present the data regarding travelling across Ukraine are being introduced for Russian citizens, who live in Ukraine, National Security and Defense Council (SNBO) Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov said.

"I gave the relevant instruction to the SNBO today to set forth the requirement on mandatory registration of Russian citizens, who are staying in Ukraine at the place of their temporary residence and to introduce the necessary requirement to file the data about travelling across Ukraine," Turchynov said following the SNBO meeting on Monday.

The relevant orders were given exclusively out of national security considerations and were also submitted to the Foreign Ministry, the government, the Interior Ministry, the State Migration Service and the State Border Service, he said.
