Donbas conflicting sides trade ceasefire breach accusations

DONETSK/KYIV. July 12 (Interfax) - The self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) has seen 36 attacks by the Ukrainian army in the past 24 hours, a spokesman for the DPR Defense Ministry told reporters on Wednesday.

"The Ukrainian army shelled 18 populated localities in the republic, using tanks, mortars, infantry combat vehicles, armored personnel carriers, grenade launchers, and small arms," the spokesman said.

In turn, the staff of the army operation in eastern Ukraine reported 21 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas on Facebook on Wednesday morning.

"One Ukrainian defender has suffered a shrapnel wound in a grenade launcher attack in the past 24 hours," the report said.

The enemy thrice used grenade launchers, heavy machineguns and an 82mm mortar against Novooleksandrivka. Ten mines were fired on Novotoshkivske. Heavy machineguns and grenade launchers hit Ukrainian army positions in Novozvanivka and Stanytsia Luhanska, the staff said.
