MOSCOW. Aug 2 (Interfax) - Reliable data on Russian military losses in Syria comes solely from the Russian Defense Ministry and if there are some Russian volunteers in the country, they have nothing to do with the Russian defense agency, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"Data comes from the Defense Ministry. One should be guided by this data which is the only official data," Peskov told reporters on Wednesday.
"If some Russian citizens like volunteers and so on are there, then this does not come from the state and has no relation to the Defense Ministry," Peskov added.
This is how he commented on media reports that the number of Russians actually killed in Syria is much higher than the data provided by the Russian Defense Ministry.
