BALASHIKHA (Moscow region). Aug 2 (Interfax-AVN) - Law enforcement officers who were involved in the efforts to neutralize 'GTA gang' members during an attack at the Moscow Regional Court, carried out precision fire and could not have wounded each other, Russian Guard deputy head Sergei Melikov told reporters on Wednesday.
"As to munitions use, the criminals used more than those who sought to avert an escape. This indicates that law enforcement officers carried out precision fire that made friendly fire impossible," Melikov said.
The ballistic examination will provide final conclusion in this regard, he said.
An OMON riot police officer was wounded in the ricochet of a round fired by a fellow police officer, some media outlets reported earlier.
