DPR claims stagnation after political subgroup Minsk meeting, believes U.S. may influence Kyiv

DONETSK. Aug 3 (Interfax) - The Assistance of the Normandy Four and the United States is needed to change the Ukrainian attitude to matters highlighted at the political subgroup's Minsk meetings, self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic negotiator Denis Pushilin said.

"The meeting [in Minsk] did not see any significant change: we are still concerned about security levels, the prisoner swap, and matters addressed by the political subgroup. Alas, it has been stagnating, and the political subgroup coordinator has been experiencing problems, so we have told the contact group it would be necessary to make decisions and help Mr. Morel [political subgroup coordinator Pierre Morel] in some way," Pushilin told journalists.

Ukraine has not laid down its stance, has refused nothing and has not agreed to anything, he said.

"It is not clear how to work with all this. Assistance by the Normandy format or even the U.S. would be necessary to change the attitude of Ukraine," he said.
