NOVOSIBIRSK. Aug 9 (Interfax-AVN) - Unmanned aerial vehicles of the Central Military District's electronic warfare forces have jammed the communications of the mock enemy's sabotage units during maneuvers in the Orenburg region, the Central Military District's press service said.
"During a tactical exercise at the Totsky range, EW units actively employed modernized systems on the basis of the Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicles, causing a complicated jamming environment and suppressing the unlawful armed groups' radio communications channels," it said.
The troops actively used drones equipped with infrared modules during the day and at nighttime.
The exercises involved over 1,000 troops and over 300 items of military hardware, including Orlan, Zastava, and Leer drones, belonging to a motorized infantry brigade of the Central Military District.
