BAKU. Aug 9 (Interfax) - Another monitoring mission carried out by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) along the contact line between conflicting parties in Nagorno-Karabakh has passed without incident, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry press service said on Wednesday.
The monitoring took place near the village of Saricali in Azerbaijan's Agdam district under the personal representative of the OSCE chairman-in-office's mandate.
Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk and field assistant Mihail Olaru carried out the monitoring on the side of Azerbaijan and the personal representative's field assistants Ghenadie Petrica, Ognjen Jovic and Martin Schuster worked on the other side of the frontline.
A ceasefire between Armenia and the self-proclaimed Nagorno-Karabakh Republic on one side and Azerbaijan on the other side was declared in May 1994. The OSCE, assisted by the personal representative of the OSCE chairperson-in-office, arranges regular monitoring trips to the frontline to verify the conflicting sides' compliance with the truce.
