MOSCOW. Aug 9 (Interfax) - The situation surrounding North Korea could veer out of control, Russian Federation Council information policy commission head Alexei Pushkov said.
" U.S. threats, new sanctions, counter threats from the DPRK. The situation risks running out of control. A military-political dance on a cliff-edge," Pushkov said on Twitter on Wednesday.
The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported earlier that the North Korean government was considering a plan of a missile strike on U.S. military bases on the U.S. Pacific territory of Guam.
U.S. President Donald Trump warned on Tuesday that North Korea would be "met with fire and fury" if it keeps threatening the United States.
The belligerent remarks were made after the Washington Post had reported citing sources at the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency that North Korea had produced a miniaturized nuclear warhead that can fit inside its intercontinental ballistic missiles.
