OSCE says its patrol was held in self-proclaimed DPR (Part 2)

KYIV. Aug 10 (Interfax) - A patrol of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) in Ukraine was in violation of the Minsk accords held in the Donetsk region's territory uncontrolled by Kyiv for some 30 minutes, the OSCE SMM said in Twitter.

"OSCE SMM patrol held by so-called "DPR" for 31 min at checkpoint near Verknoshyrokivske; other civilians were allowed to pass. Minsk violation," the Mission said in a tweet posted on Thursday.

The Ukrainian side of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination reported another incident at the contact line on Thursday.

In the morning, Ukrainian servicemen started to examine roads in the government-controlled territory where a trip from the village of Pikuzy (the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic) to Mariupol was planned by the OSCE SMM patrol led by Principal Deputy Chief Monitor Alexander Hug, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said on its official website. At some point Kyiv's adversary opened fire at Ukrainian army positions and injured a Ukrainian soldier who was checking the road for explosive devices, it said.

Eventually, Hug and OSCE SMM employees were unable to get to Mariupol via the route as was planned, the Ukrainian ministry said.
