No plans yet to convert MiG-35 fighter into carrier-based variant - MIG Corporation

PATRIOT PARK (Moscow region). Aug 22 (Interfax-AVN) - The prospective fighter aircraft, Mikoyan MiG-35, will not be replacing Sukhoi Su-33 carrier-based fighters as the armament of a future aircraft carrier, Russian Aircraft Corporation MIG chief Ilya Tarasenko told journalists on Tuesday.

"There are no plans yet to convert MiG-35 into a carrier-based variant," he said.

"We have the current project, the carrier-based fighter MiG-29K/KUB, which are already being used on Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier," he said.
