Russian Defense Ministry interacting with U.S., Turkey, UN on Syria - General Staff

KUBINKA (Moscow region). Aug 25 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Defense Ministry is interacting with representatives of U.S. and Turkish defense agencies and the secretariat of the United Nations special envoy for Syria in Geneva and Damascus, Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff Sergei Rudskoi said.

"Interaction of the Russian Defense Ministry administration and officials of the U.S. Department of Defense and the Turkish Defense Ministry, the secretariat of the UN secretary general's special envoy for Syria in Geneva and Damascus, Russian representatives at the taskforces of the Syria International Support Group, the Syria truce violations rapid response center in Geneva, and also representatives of other international organizations has been arranged via the combat control group," Rudskoi said at a roundtable on the sidelines of the Army 2017 forum on Friday.

This measure allows the sides to promptly discuss military and political issues and exchange opinions on the situation and the course of humanitarian missions in Syrian towns and villages, he said.
