Russian Aerospace Forces destroy 4 tanks, over 20 cars with ISIL ammo over night and today - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. Aug 28 (Interfax) - Russian military aircraft have destroyed four terrorist tanks and over 20 vehicles near Deir ez-Zor in Syria over night and till now, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"The Russian Aerospace Forces, during the night and today, continued to successfully strike at ISIL [a terrorist group, banned in Russia] targets, destroying four tanks, 16 all-terrain vehicles with large-caliber machineguns, six trucks with munitions, and two strongholds with equipped artillery positions," the ministry told Interfax on Monday.

The Russian air operation "enabled Syrian government troops led by Gen. Suheil al-Hassan to continue the advance toward Deir ez-Zor along the eastern bank of the Euphrates River in order to unblock it," the ministry said.
