Russian, South Korean presidents resolutely condemn North Korea's new nuclear test in phone conversation - Kremlin

MOSCOW. Sept 4 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and South Korean President Moon Jae-in held a phone conversation on September 4, the Kremlin press service said.

"During the discussion on the problems in the Korean Peninsula taking into consideration the new nuclear test carried out by North Korea on September 3 Pyongyang's actions, which rudely breach the relevant UN Security Council resolutions, undermine global non-proliferation regime and create a serious threat to peace and security in the region were resolutely condemned," the statement said.

"The Russian side again emphasized that this extremely complicated situation may be settled exclusively by resuming talks, active employment of politico-diplomatic means," it said.

The two leaders will continue an exchange of opinions on this issue at a meeting at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok on September 6, the statement said.
