DONETSK/LUHANSK/KYIV. Sept 5 (Interfax) - The self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) recorded 30 instances of shelling conducted by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the past 24 hours.
"Thirty ceasefire violations from the Ukrainian Armed Forces' positions were recorded in the past 24 hours," Eduard Basurin of the DPR Defense Ministry said at a briefing on Tuesday.
A command and staff mobilization exercise of a defensive nature has begun in the DPR Armed Forces on Tuesday, he said.
"During the exercise, commanders of units, in cooperation with the republic's military enlistment offices, will drill the drafting and recruitment of volunteers into the DPR army in case of enemy aggression," Basurin said.
The militia of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) said earlier that "Ukrainian troops breached the ceasefire seven times in the past 24 hours, using rocket-propelled grenade launchers, rifle-mounted grenade launchers, and small arms."
The headquarters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Donbas reported 36 instances of shelling conducted by militiamen. No Ukrainian troops were injured in the shelling. The greatest tension persisted in the Donetsk sector, the press service for the headquarters said.
