CSTO general secretary to hold talks with Tajik president

MOSCOW. Sept 6 (Interfax-AVN) - During a visit to Tajikistan on September 7-9 Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Secretary General Yury Khachaturov will discuss the run-up to a collective security council session in Minsk, the CSTO press service said in a statement.

"The trip is meant to discuss issues of preparations for a collective security council session and a joint meeting of the CSTO council of foreign ministers, the council of defense ministers and the security council secretaries' committee, which will be held in Minsk in autumn 2017," the statement said.

During Khachaturov's visit, a meeting with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon is planned, the press service reported. The CSTO secretary general is also expected to hold talks with Defense Minister Sherali Mirzo and Security Council Secretary Abdurakhim Kakharov and the chief of the Tajik Armed Forces General Staff.
