Novosibirsk researchers to stage experiments aboard Chinese space station

NOVOSIBIRSK. Sept 12 (Interfax) - The China National Space Administration (CNSA) hopes to cooperate with scientists from Russia, including Siberia, in the Chinese orbital station project, the Agency's Jian-Fu Zhao told reporters in Novosibirsk on Tuesday.

"We are set to establish cooperation between Chinese and Russian scientists in the future," Jian-Fu Zhao said.

The central module of the station, where experiments will be held, may be launched in 2020, and the station will be fully operational two years later, he said.

The station will host experiments for ten years, Jian-Fu Zhao said.

Oleg Kabov, head of the heat exchange intensification laboratory of the Novosibirsk-based Thermo-physics Institute, said the institute was planning to stage three experiments aboard the Chinese station.

"Our institute is participating in three projects of the kind," Kabov said.

The experiments will study micro- and nano-canal evaporation, condensation and boiling in zero and micro gravity conditions, he said.

Kabov added that Russia would be staging experiments together with the European Space Agency.
