MOSCOW. Sept 12 (Interfax) - Moscow is hoping that the leadership of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) will demonstrate a striving to settle problems of the Korean peninsula politico-diplomatically, the Russian Foreign Ministry's ambassador-at-large Oleg Burmistrov said.
"We hope that in the current difficult situation the DPRK leadership will show wisdom and a desire for all problems of the Korean peninsula to be settled in a politico-diplomatic way," Burmistrov said at a reception in honor of the 69th anniversary since the foundation of the DPRK.
"Russia is ready for the closest possible dialogue with the DPRK in the interest of settling all problems of the Korean peninsula, whose resolution is an essential precondition of normalizing the situation in northeastern Asia," the diplomat said.
