GROZNY/MOSCOW. Sept 13 (Interfax) - Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov plans to discuss in Grozny with Libyan Deputy Prime Minister Ahmed Maiteeq the development of bilateral relations and the peaceful settlement in Libya.
"Libyan Deputy Prime Minister Ahmed Maiteeq is arriving in Grozny today. We intend to focus attention on the development prospects in relations between Russia and Libya on a whole, and between Libya and Chechnya in particular. There are a lot of trade-economic and other cooperation plans, and they will be profitable to both sides," Kadyrov said on his Telegram-channel.
"But the most important thing in current conditions is to help all forces acting in Libya to find common language and establish a firm and lasting peace. Only taking into consideration all current realities it is possible to once and forever restore stability in Libya, with which our country has been maintaining very good relations for decades," Kadyrov said.
"Western countries led by the United States have ruined Libya and have brought about thousands of problems to the people of this country," the Chechen republic's head said.
"The existence of acute internal Libyan differences is among the primary ones. Russia from the very beginning spoke out against military meddling into domestic affairs of sovereign Libya. Our country is making major effort to facilitate the achievement of a peaceful settlement of internal Libyan problems," Kadyrov said.
He recalled that he had repeatedly met Libyan prominent politicians and army command representatives in Grozny and Moscow. "We have absolutely frankly discussed pressing issues and have together sought the paths to settle them. All this work is ongoing in close cooperation and interaction with the intra-Libyan settlement contact group at the Russian Foreign Ministry and the State Duma led by Lev Dengov," Kadyrov said.
