Control forces in de-escalation zone in Idlib to be deployed on basis of maps approved in Ankara on September 8

ASTANA. Sept 15 (Interfax) - Russia, Turkey, and Iran will jointly ensure security in the fourth de-escalation zone in Syria's Idlib and in some parts of the neighboring provinces, Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov said.

"Russia, Turkey, and Iran are deploying the de-escalation control forces of the three guarantor countries based on the maps approved in Ankara on September 8, and in accordance with the mandate for the deployment of de-escalation control forces drafted by the joint working group on de-escalation, on a temporary basis in the security area in the de-escalation zone (the provinces of Latakia, Hama and Aleppo) for the purpose of preventing incidents and clashes between the conflict parties: the Syrian government and armed opposition units which have already joined or will join the ceasefire," Abdrakhmanov said, reading the joint statement of the ceasefire guarantor countries.
