Soyuz rockets to be launched 6 times in 2018 for Arianespace/OneWeb

MOSCOW. Sept 18 (Interfax) - Russian Soyuz launch vehicles will place spacecraft in orbit on behalf of Arianespace six times in 2018, an informed source said.

"Six launches are planned. The Kourou space center in French Guiana, from which four rockets will lift off, will be the main launch site," the source said.

"Two rockets will be launched from Baikonur," he said.

The companies Arianespace and OneWeb announced in London that they had signed a contract for launching OneWeb mobile communications spacecraft using 21 Soyuz launch vehicles between 2017 and 2019. At least 15 of these vehicles will be launched from Baikonur and Russian cosmodromes.
