Three Russian troops wounded while eliminating militants who organized offensive in Syria's Idlib de-escalation area - Russian Defense Ministry (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Sept 20 (Interfax) - Three servicemen of the Russian special operation forces were wounded while repelling an offensive of militants from Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group (outlawed in Russia) in the Idlib de-escalation area in Syria, Chief of the Russian General Staff's Main Operational Directorate Col. Gen. Sergei Rudskoi said.

"The encirclement was breached and Russian Armed Forces units reached by assault the area of the government forces' disposition without casualties. Three servicemen of the special operation forces were wounded during the operation," Rudskoi said.

"Terrorists' offensive was halted by measures taken by the Russian command jointly with the Syrian General Staff, they suffered significant damage," Rudskoi said.

Participants of the operation were recommended for state awards, he said.
