MOSCOW. Sept 25 (Interfax) - Russia has called on the United States to demonstrate in practice its commitment to the objectives of the fight against terrorism in Syria, Deputy Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said in a comment on the situation in Syria's Deir ez-Zor.
"We certainly want the U.S. side to make practical efforts in full conformity with those statements that are abundant in the information space [the statements concerning Washington's adherence to the struggle against terrorism]," Ryabkov told reporters on Monday.
Communication between the military of the two countries "is quite intensive and maintained on various levels," Ryabkov added.
The death of a Russian general in the battles near Deir ez-Zor is "the price paid in blood for the duplicity of the U.S. policy" in Syria, he said.
Ryabkov expressed disappointment that the U.S. neglects anti-terrorist goals for its own geopolitical objectives.
