MOSCOW. Sept 26 (Interfax) - Russian diplomats are aware that a representative center of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) had opened in Marseilles, but they did not attend this event, Russian Embassy in Paris spokesperson Anna Shlychkova said.
"Yes, we know [the opening] happened. As far as I know, no Russian representatives attended this event," Shlychkova told Interfax on Tuesday.
"It is an association that can be established upon notification in accordance with the French legislation. In other words, people set up an organization and notified the authorities about it," she said.
The Russian Consulate General in Marseilles told Interfax earlier on Tuesday that it "confirms the fact that the DPR center had opened in France" but forwarded follow-up questions to the Russian Embassy in Paris.
It was reported on Monday that a representative office of the self-proclaimed DPR started working in France.
