MOSCOW. Oct 6 (Interfax) - The bill on Donbas reintegration contradicts the Minsk Agreements, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"It contains provisions where Russia is called an aggressor, and it does not mention the Minsk Agreements at all. From a purely legal viewpoint, there is no doubt that such wording cannot be acceptable to us de jure or de facto, it's unacceptable, but from a legal viewpoint, of course, it contradicts the letter and spirit of the Minsk Agreements," Peskov told reporters on Friday.
According to the information possessed by the Kremlin, the bill "is very declarative in nature," he said.
The definitions in the bill are not present in the Minsk Agreements, and Russia is a guarantor of these agreements, Peskov said.
"Essentially, the president of Ukraine, who also signed in Minsk, by doing so said that he agreed with that. Therefore, a legal contradiction exists, and we acknowledge that," Peskov said.
