Up to 80 militants, command outpost destroyed near Syria's Mayadin - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. Oct 9 (Interfax) - Russian forces killed about 80 militants in the area of the city of Mayadin in Syria, Russian Defense Ministry spokesperson Igor Konashenkov said.

"A command outpost of the terrorists and up to 80 militants, including nine coming from the North Caucasus, have been destroyed in the area of Mayadin. The airstrike also destroyed 18 off-road vehicles with large-caliber weapons and three depots," Konashenkov said.

Another airstrike delivered by the Russian Aerospace Forces near the city of Abu Kamal destroyed a stronghold and about 40 terrorists coming from Tajikistan and Iraq, he said.
