MOSCOW. Oct 16 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia and Bahrain have signed a number of military-technical cooperation contracts in 2017, a spokesman for Rosoboronexport told Interfax on Monday.
"Several contracts for the delivery of weapons and military hardware were signed in 2017," the spokesman said.
A Russian-Bahraini military-technical cooperation agreement entered into in 2015, he said.
"Rosoboronexport made several deliveries of Russian military products to the Bahraini army in 2016 in the agreement's context," the spokesman said.
According to Rosoboronexport, Bahrain is interested in Russian air defense systems of various ranges, as well as in armored vehicles.
Rosoboronexport will take part in the BIDEC 2017 defense show in Bahrain on October 16-18, he said.
"Rosoboronexport is set to have a vast business program on the BIDEC 2017 sidelines. There will be meetings with representatives of the military and political leadership and the business community of Bahrain and other countries of the Middle East and North Africa," the spokesman said.
A representative of the exhibition's organizer and Clarion Events company, Craig Le Roux, said earlier that Russia and Bahrain signed a contract for Igla MANPADS this year.
