Trump's words on readiness to destroy N. Korea ill-considered, world won't let anybody do that - Larijani (Part 2)

ST. PETERSBURG. Oct 16 (Interfax) - U.S. President Donald Trump's words on readiness to destroy North Korea, as well as a number of similar threats made by him, should not be taken seriously, because the world will not let the U.S. do that, Iranian parliamentary speaker Ali Larijani said.

"As for North Korea, he said he would completely destroy North Korea. It is evident that those words are unversed, unbalanced and ill-considered. Today's world will not let anybody do that," Larijani told reporters on Monday.

Trump is engaged in narcissism when making such statements, the Iranian parliamentary speaker said.

"[By] his statements, and when he wakes up everyday and tweets his words, he creates some problem in the world. I believe he is engaged in narcissism, he has little experience in politics," Larijani said.

This has led to the U.S. president making promises and being unable to fulfill them, he said.

"I have talked to the Mexican leadership recently. I asked [them] about his [Trump's] wish to build the Mexican wall, and they said no, it's impossible," Larijani said.

In addition, the U.S. has threatened to pressure Russia by means of sanctions, but the Russian market is working, and "there are no problems," the lawmaker said.

"If there are some issues, they weren't caused by sanctions," the parliamentarian said.

"I would like to say that one should not take his words very seriously. I don't think the world's politicians take his worlds very seriously," Larijani said.

Trump has no political significance, he said. "It is evident that he has no significance. I believe Americans have ended up in a state where they have no political significance," the Iranian parliamentary speaker said.
