N. Korean representative demands that U.S., South Korea stop exercises near Korean Peninsula

ST. PETERSBURG. Oct 17 (Interfax) - Joint military exercises conducted by the United States and South Korea create a threat of a war against North Korea and should stop, a representative of the North Korean delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly told journalists.

"These exercises create the threat of a war against us. Any military exercises near the Korean Peninsula should stop," the representative said.
