Moscow believes Trump still committed to improving relations with Russia - Lavrov

MOSCOW. Oct 17 (Interfax) - Moscow believes that the U.S. administration is still committed to the improvement of relations and cooperation with Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday.

"With all inconsistency in the incumbent White House administration's actions and with all extravagance, Donald Trump has not abandoned his slogans and intentions to improve relations and cooperate with Russia, which he declared both during his election campaign and after he was elected president," Lavrov said in an interview with the website of the Valdai Discussion Club.

Those who are fomenting anti-Russian sentiments in U.S. society "are seeking to undermine the Trump administration's positions," he said.
