U.S. stance on JCPOA, N. Korea exacerbates global security situation - Ryabkov

MOSCOW. Oct 18 (Interfax) - The U.S. stance on the Iran nuclear deal and the threat to use force against North Korea have a negative effect on global security, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Wednesday.

"On the whole, the U.S. stance on the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in regard to the Iranian nuclear program, and the ongoing threats of solving the North Korea problem [by force] are exacerbating the existent security problems and adding worrisome elements to the general situation, which is already not very optimistic," Ryabkov said at a conference on the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) hosted by the MIFI National Nuclear Research University.
