MOSCOW. Oct 19 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov and his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi discussed further steps Moscow and Tehran may take to preserve the Iran nuclear deal at a meeting in Moscow on Thursday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"The sides held an in-depth exchange of opinions on the current situation surrounding the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action [JCPOA] on settling the situation around the Iranian nuclear program in light of U.S. President Donald Trump's refusal to certify to Congress that Iran is honestly complying with its obligations," the ministry said on its website.
"The parties also discussed tasks to further coordinate steps of Russia and Iran in the interest of preserving the JCPOA and further developing bilateral cooperation," it said.
"Ryabkov reaffirmed the Russian side's intention to continue fulfilling its obligations as part of the JCPOA," the ministry said.
