SOCHI. Oct 19 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said he still sees positive prospects in relation with the United States and believes that two countries' cooperation on the Syrian issues could become the basis for it.
"I would like to conclude on a positive note. I believe many things in resolving issues, which concern both you [Americans] and us, depend on how we would work together. And it is the thing that should encourage us to think that we have prospects, even good ones," Putin said at a session of the Valdai International Discussion Club.
Putin mentioned Syria in this regard: "I have no right to provide details, but I believe we have a dialogue, it is ongoing at a working level, at the level of security services, defense agencies, and foreign ministers almost on the daily basis."
"We have achieved some shared results, and it means we are capable of doing that. And I believe it should be extended to other fields of our interaction," he said.
