Possible enlargement of IAEA monitoring in Iran must be discussed within Joint Commission under JCPOA - Iranian deputy foreign minister

MOSCOW. Oct 23 (Interfax) - The possible enlargement of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) monitoring activities in Iran must be discussed within the framework of the Joint Commission under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iranian nuclear program (JCPOA), Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi said.

"I am sure that the JCPOA can be used as a model," Araghchi said. "This approach that we have used is based on a very precise balance between rights and obligations," Araghchi said at a panel discussion at the Moscow Nonproliferation Conference on Saturday.

"Continued interaction with the Joint Commission is of great significance," Araghchi said, noting that the possible enlargement of the IAEA's monitoring activities needs to be discussed within the existing agreement.
