MOSCOW. Oct 27 (Interfax-AVN) - Crews operating Ka-27PS ship-based helicopters operating from the Boiky and Soobrazitelny corvettes tackled a series of training combat tasks in the eastern part of the Atlantic Ocean, the Russian Baltic Fleet staff said on Friday.
"During routine flights, the Baltic Fleet's helicopter pilots, acting together with the corvettes' crews, practiced efforts to look for submarines and held an anti-submarine weapons use simulation," the fleet said in a press release shared with Interfax-AVN.
The Baltic Fleet's unit comprising the Boiky and Soobrazitelny corvettes and the Kola medium-sized sea-going tanker left the Military Harbor in the city of Baltiysk on October 14 and headed to the Atlantic Ocean as part of Russia's regular naval presence in the World Ocean, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
