MOSCOW. Nov 7 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian-Japanese military cooperation is gradually developing, Deputy Defense Minister Lieut. Gen. Alexander Fomin said.

"I would like to separately note the positive trends in our interaction with Japan, signs of which appeared after meetings between Vladimir Putin and Shinzo Abe. The meeting was held in Tokyo in March," Fomin said in an interview posted on the Gazeta.ru website on Monday.

The Chief of the Russian Armed Forces' General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, and the Ground Forces' Commander-in-chief, Oleg Salyukov, are due to visit Japan before the end of 2017, he said.
