MOSCOW. Nov 7 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has declared the importance of diversification in the national defense sector, including the production of high-tech civilian products.
"The economic and financial stability of defense plants has grown in recent years, and their technological and production potential has increased; as a result, exports have grown, and their quality has improved. This applies to both military and high-tech civilian products," Putin said at a meeting of the Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation.
"Let me remind you of the importance of diversification in the defense sector in this connection," Putin said.
"Ties with our strategic partners should be strengthened, while establishing contacts with new clients," he said.
