MOSCOW. Nov 15 (Interfax) - The Russian military has repeatedly registered instances of the United States supporting militants in Syria, Viktor Bondarev, the former commander-in-chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces and head of the Federation Council Defense and Security Committee, said on Tuesday.
"Providing cover for the militants retreating from Abu Kemal was not the first case of the States helping terrorists in Syria. Over the course of the Russian special operation in Syria, we have registered multiple confirmations of the U.S. assisting terrorists, including by way of aerial photography, which captured images of NATO' s military equipment in areas controlled by ISIL [banned in Russia]," Bondarev was quoted by his press service as saying.
He was commenting on the Russian Defense Ministry's allegations that the U.S. is directly supporting ISIL.
Furthermore, Russian troops earlier "seized more than one terrorist depot of ammunition packed full of U.S.-, British- and Belgian-made weapons," Bondarev said.
"They spotted more than one U.S. aircraft dropping shells and ammunition to ISIL fighters. They saw U.S. special forces moving freely, fearlessly through militant formations," Bondarev said.
The closing of ISIL supply routes was followed by another kind of U.S. support, which it has practiced before: another moderate opposition started to take shape immediately in al-Tanf, Bondarev said.
