Angara-1.2 LV engine passes test firing - Roscosmos

MOSCOW. Nov 17 (Interfax-AVN) - Roscosmos has successfully carried out a test firing of the Angara-1.2 light-haul rocket engine, the state corporation said in a statement on its website.

"The positive outcome of the trials confirmed that the engine is serviceable and that the engineering solutions were chosen correctly. It was decided after developmental testing to begin flight tests [of the engine] as part of an operational service module," the statement said.

The trials were held at the testing facility of the Rocket and Space Industry Testing Center. The center's personnel ensured the safety of the trials and rapidly processed the results.

The detachable service module, which is part of the second stage of the two-stage Angara-1.2 LV, is designed to put spacecraft into their final orbits.
