A SARC-UN convoy delivered 72 tonnes of aid to Deir ez-Zor and 56 tonnes to Abu Kemal, the ministry said.
Russia continues providing humanitarian aid to the areas worst hit by terrorism, the ministry said.
"Our reconciliation center has delivered humanitarian aid weighing in total 1,700 kilograms (rice, flour, canned meat, sugar) to residents of Saffiya," the statement said.
The aid effort also involved Russian special army medics tending to 219 residents, including 96 children, the statement said. Safety throughout the event was provided by the Russian military police.
Through joint efforts by the reconciliation center and the national reconciliation committee in the Homs de-escalation area, three populated localities have agreed to sign the ceasefire agreement: Shalouh in Homs province, and Qasr Abash and Zuhair al-Ward in Aleppo province, the defense ministry said.
