LPR resident killed in explosion

LUHANSK. Nov 27 (Interfax) - A man was killed by an explosion in an apartment in the city of Stakhanov in the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic.

"A 68-year-old man was killed by the explosion of a homemade explosive device in an apartment in a five-story residential building in the city of Stakhanov," LPR Emergency Situations Ministry official Vyacheslav Tretyakov told reporters.

He did not give the victim's name and occupation, but assumed that he could have blown up the bomb that killed him deliberately.

"An investigation is underway," Tretyakov said.

Stakhanov (Kadiyevka in Ukrainian) is a city in the Luhansk region of Ukraine. It has been controlled by the LPR since 2014.
