MOSCOW. Nov 27 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Defense Ministry has denied foreign media reports, citing the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, that Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft have allegedly struck the village of Al-Shafah in the Deir ez-Zor province.
"Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft were not used against the populated locality of Al-Shafah in the Deir ez-Zor province," the ministry said in a statement obtained by Interfax-AVN on Monday.
"Russian Aerospace Forces carry out strikes outside of populated localities, only against international terrorist targets," the ministry said.
"Information about such targets is verified prior to strikes and confirmed in real time via several channels, both from the ground and by unmanned objective monitoring vehicles," the statement said.
"Reports from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights based in Britain regarding alleged Russian Aerospace Forces airstrikes against the village of Al-Shafah are yet another falsehood," the ministry said.
